Radio Frequency Smart Meters’ starts in Mhow

In a bid to give more acceleration to the installation of ‘Radio Frequency Smart Meters’ in MP, the Western Region Power Distribution Company has already started the installation of meters in Ujjain city last week. 

Now, the Western Power Distribution Company has started the installation of Smart Meter which works on radio frequency in Mhow region very well on 14 January. After Indore, Ratlam, Ujjain, now Mhow has become the fourth city of Malwa where such meters are being installed.

Officials said that with this, the readings up to the last date of every month will be received over a radio frequency. There will be no dependency on readers. After the installation of smart meters, consumers will start getting information about electricity cost on their mobile every day. A link will be provided to the consumer by the Electricity Board which will inform about daily electricity consumption. This will help the consumers for efficient consumption of electricity

The company will also start installing smart meters in Dewas, Khargone during the next month.  These entire cities will be installed with smart meters.  The work of meter readers will be finished at these places, on the last date of every month the data will reach the billing section directly from the meter in a radio frequency manner. The power company will not charge any fee from consumers for these smart meters.
