Raghuram Rajan mentally not full Indian-Subramanian Swamy to PM

The Indian politician and economist Subramanian Swamy wrote to PM Narendra Modi asking for the termination of the RBI governor Raghuram Rajan. In the letter Swamy had said "Why should we retain a UPA appointee? He (Rajan) is mentally not fully Indian, he believes in raising interest rates to decrease inflation. Issey berozgaari badh gayi hai, usko jitna jaldi chutti karke Chicago bhej sakte ho, bhejna chahiye."

Swamy had earlier commneted "In my opinion, RBI Governor is not appropriate for the country. I don't want to speak much about him. He has hiked interest rates in the garb of controlling inflation that has damaged the country," According to him, governor's actions have led to inflation and rise of unemployment in the country. After the statement of BJP lawmaker last week, Congress' C Hanumanth Rao said "It is Swamy who should go abroad and teach. That will put an end to chaos and blackmail in parliament every day."

Mr Swamy cites what he calls the "disatrous" concept of containing inflation by raising interest rates. He has alleged that Dr Rajan's decisions have squeezed small and medium business and increased unemployment in the country.Since Rajan continues to hold the green card issued to him by the US government, Swamy called him mentally not full indian and his actions to be "apparently deliberate attempt to wreck the Indian economy." When BJP came to power, Rajan's position was seen as precarious but the PM himself had praised he governor the previous year for "perfectly" explaining complex economic issues to him in regular one-on-one meetings.
