Rahul Dravid devises plan to promote alternative careers for the young players

Former cricketer Rahul Dravid in a meeting with BCCI, has stressed on the fact that life skills of the youngsters should be enhanced outside of the sport. The Wall said that a lot of these young players quit cricket by 21. Then it's a struggle for them to lead a stable life.

Dravid believes that payers engrossed in the game don’t focus on the other different facts of life. He said, Most of the cricketers these days are so engrossed in playing the game that they don't look at any other aspect of life. It has been observed a lot of these young players quit cricket by 21. Then it's a struggle for them to lead a stable life. Talking about the training and vocational courses for the young players, Dravid said We are looking at life coaching, internships with companies and training in other vocational courses and then facilitating jobs for the youngsters."

Tufan Ghosh, Chief Operating Officer of National Cricket Academy said that the board would initially be targeting the youngsters between 17-21 years of age for vocational training.  He further added that they are looking to bring in various companies which will provide employment and their initial lookout is at the hospitality sector.
