New Delhi: Today is the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, who taught the world truth and non-violence. On January 30, 1948, in the year 1948, Nathu Ram Godse shot him and killed him. Mahatma Gandhi may not be among us today, but his thoughts are becoming a pioneer for the whole world. Throughout his life, Mahatma Gandhi had not only fought for India's independence but also taught many other countries of the world to fight for freedom and civil rights. On Saturday, on the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the whole world is paying him respect. Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi has shared his thoughts on his Twitter handle remembering him. Rahul Gandhi wrote that 'Truth stands without the support of the people, it is self-sufficient. Humble tribute on Bapu's death anniversary.' While paying homage to his excellency Ram Nath Kovind, he wrote on his Twitter handle, 'I pay tribute to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on behalf of this grateful nation. Those who got martyrdom on this day. We should move forward on the path of peace, non-violence, simplicity, purity, and humanity as told by them. Let us all pledge to move on the path of truth and love told by them.'
