Rahul Gandhi Criticizes Unemployment in Haryana, Highlights Impact on Families

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi took aim at the Haryana government in a recent public rally, criticizing the lack of job opportunities that force many young people to migrate abroad, leaving their families behind. As Haryana gears up for elections, Gandhi used emotional stories to highlight the struggles faced by families when breadwinners migrate in search of better prospects.

During his speech, Gandhi shared the story of a young boy named Dev who misses his father, who had to move to America for work. “Dev’s heart-wrenching cry, ‘Papa, come back!’ reflects the pain of many children in Haryana whose parents are forced to leave them behind,” Gandhi said, emphasizing the emotional toll of migration on families.

Gandhi expressed frustration with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government, stating, “Dev’s cry may not reach Modi’s ears, but it has touched mine deeply. The Congress party’s duty is to end this suffering and bring opportunities back to Haryana so that families can stay together.”

Gandhi criticized the government for its failure to create employment, saying, “While Modi is busy promoting himself, children like Dev are left yearning for their parents. No toy, cricket bat, or football can replace the presence of a father.”

He called for a Haryana where families can live without fear or sorrow, and children are no longer left behind. Gandhi pledged to create a Haryana where “every child is hugged by their parents, and no mother sheds tears of loneliness.” He outlined key promises to achieve this vision, including financial support for women, increased job opportunities, and better resources for farmers.

Gandhi’s promises included monthly financial aid of ₹2,000 for women, subsidized gas cylinders for ₹500, and filling two lakh vacant government positions for the youth. He also committed to ensuring Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for farmers, quick disbursement of insurance claims for losses, and providing affordable housing options with financial assistance.

Addressing the broader political landscape, Gandhi warned that the BJP’s actions threaten the Indian Constitution, which safeguards the rights of marginalized communities. He reiterated his call for a caste census to ensure fair resource distribution across the country.

As Haryana heads to the polls on October 5 to elect its 90-member state legislative assembly, Gandhi urged the people to unite, saying, “The tears of Haryana’s children must reach the leaders, and we must work together to bring their fathers home.”
