Srinagar: Former Congress Lok Sabha President Rahul Gandhi will not hoist the National Flag of India at the historic Lal Chowk in Srinagar, J&K. The Congress party itself has confirmed this. All India Congress Committee (AICC) in-charge of Jammu and Kashmir and party MP Rajni Patil has said that Rahul Gandhi will hoist the national flag at the Congress headquarters in Srinagar on January 30 and not at Lal Chowk. Rajni Patil said hoisting the national flag at Lal Chowk was "part of the RSS agenda". Earlier, it was said in all media reports that on January 30, Congress Lok Sabha MP Rahul Gandhi is going to hoist the tricolor at Lal Chowk in Srinagar, where Narendra Modi hoisted the tricolor in 1992. At that time, terrorism was at its peak in Kashmir and those who hoisted the tricolor were even threatened with death. However, despite threats from militants, the 'Ekta Yatra' led by veteran BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi reached Srinagar and gave a befitting reply to the threats of fundamentalists by hoisting the national flag at Lal Chowk. However, Rahul Gandhi is not going to do this. Actually, Mehbooba Mufti will also join Rahul Gandhi in the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Mehbooba Mufti had threatened that if Article 370 is removed from the state, there will be no one to raise the tricolor in the whole of Jammu and Kashmir. Perhaps in view of this, Congress has decided to hoist the tricolor only at its headquarters. Congress has been opposing the removal of Article 370 from the beginning, which is the main root of terrorism in Kashmir. Rahul Gandhi has often refrained from talking about terrorism. In such a situation, he or his party Congress would not want to raise this issue by hoisting the tricolor at Lal Chowk. Therefore, Congress has taken a U-turn by calling it the 'RSS agenda' even after it first announced the hoisting of the national flag at Lal Chowk. Rahul Gandhi has been attacking the BJP-RSS throughout his journey and has been giving tips to people to fight this ideology. But hundreds of people from Kerala, the state from which Rahul Gandhi himself is a Lok Sabha MP, are going to countries like Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan to join the terrorist organization Islamic State (IS), but not once has Rahul appealed to those youth not to become terrorists. In such a situation, questions are often raised on him, why do Rahul Gandhi and the entire Congress shy away from talking about terrorism? Is there a vote bank reason behind this?
