New Delhi: Indian Railways has set major targets for automobile shipments for the next two years. Railways want to load 20 percent of its shipments in the year 2021-22. It is targeted to increase it to 30 per cent in 2023-24 next year. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal has held an ego meeting with automobile industry giants on Saturday. It was attended by representatives from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) and the Automotive Tyre Manufacturers Association (ATMA). In the crisis of corona epidemic, Indian Railways is moving very fast in the field of freight loading and setting new records. Now, the focus of the railways is on automobile loading and a lot of efforts are being made. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal held an important meeting with automobile sector veterans on Saturday. The meeting was attended by Tata Motors, Hyundai Motors, Ford Motors Mahindra & Mahindra, Honda India and Maruti Suzuki Limited from SIAM. Representatives of Automobile Freight Train Operators (FPOS) and Automotive Tyre Manufacturers Association (ATMA) were also present. Let us say that the railways have made terminal charge free for automobile traffic to increase automobile loading. With this, seven new terminals for automobile traffic have also been launched this year.
