Mumbai: Maharashtra Nirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Tuesday said migrant laborers from other states are responsible for the rapid spread of coronavirus in Mumbai. It may be recalled that a large number of new corona cases have been registered in Maharashtra for the last few weeks. Raj Thackeray said there is a shortage of adequate facilities for the corona test of migrant laborers in other states. Raj Thackeray further said, "Maharashtra has the highest number of industries in the country. A large number of migrant laborers from other States come here. The State from which these migrant laborers come is short of facilities for corona testing.'' Raj Thackeray, after interacting with Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray, said, "During the lockdown last year, I had suggested that migrant laborers returning to their homes should be tested, but this was not done.” the MNS chief further said that he has told CM Uddhav Thackeray that he can allow players to attend practice sessions and allow gyms to be opened with social distancing. Talking about the restrictions imposed in Maharashtra since Monday night, Raj Thackeray said that all shops should be kept open for at least two or three days during this period.
