Jaipur: A tragic accident took place in Rajasthan last night. An Air Force fighter jet MiG-21 Bison (trainer aircraft) encountered an accident at Bhimra village under Barmer in the state at 9.10 pm on Thursday. After the crash, the large plane caught fire and debris was scattered within a radius of about half a kilometre. In the accident, both the pilots on board the plane got martyred. Some videos of the incident have also surfaced, in which the debris of the plane is seen on fire on the spot after the accident. The body parts are scattered. A mobile phone was also broken nearby. Where the plane landed, there was a big crater within a radius of 15 feet. This is the eighth case of a military plane crash in Barmer in nine years. At the same time, the Air Force has ordered a Court of Inquiry to find out the cause of the accident. At the same time, condolences have been extended to the families of those who were martyred. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has held discussions with the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhary over the incident. On December 24 last year, an Indian Air Force MiG-21 fighter aircraft crashed near Jaisalmer. The pilot, Wing Commander Harshit Sinha, lost his life in the accident. The place where the jet fell is in the Sudasari Desert National Park and is near the Pakistan border. This area comes under the control of the Army.
