Ajmer: A sensational case of rape and murder has come to light from Ajmer in Rajasthan, where a youth named Arshad Khan brutally murdered a 17-year-old girl by slitting her throat with a knife after raping her. After this, he also tried to commit suicide himself, but the police took the accused into custody.
According to the report, the incident took place in the Pisangan police station area of Ajmer district. The accused is a resident of Sarai Sultan, Bilgram Mallawan in the Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh. The minor girl is a resident of Ras in Pali in Ajmer. The two were friends via Instagram. The deceased was a tuition teacher. After the friendship, the accused Arshad wanted to marry the girl, but the minor was not ready for it and every time she avoided it. In the same episode on Tuesday (March 22, 2022), Arshad Khan called the minor to meet him. When the victim reached there, Arshad again started pressurising her to get married. But when the victim did not agree, he first raped her and then killed her by slitting her throat with a knife.
Police said the girl's body was found in the forest 100 metres inside the Ras-Mangliawas highway near Kannauj in Dhuvadia village in Karanos. According to Ajmer Superintendent of Police Vikas Sangwan, the accused did not run away after killing her but sat there. He was trying to commit suicide by hitting his own body with a knife. Amidst the allegations of gang rape by the family, a case has now been registered in the case under the gang rape and POCSO Act. Additional SP Vikas Sangwan said that one of the main accused has been taken into custody. At the same time, the family has also demanded a compensation of Rs 50 lakh. However, the body of the victim has been kept in the mortuary of JLN Hospital. The family members of the deceased and villagers have also sat on a dharna outside the hospital.
