Jaipur: Rajasthan's Ashok Gehlot government has made a big announcement for farmers. Farmers whose power connections were disconnected during the corona crisis can get their electricity connection back by paying 10 per cent electricity bills. Power Minister Bhanwar Singh Bhati has informed that old penalty and interest concession has also been given to farmers for connecting agricultural connections. He said that farmers can get agriculture connections back by depositing only 10 per cent of the total outstanding amount. Concession will be given to deposit the outstanding amount in 6 instalments. About 70 percent farmers will be benefited from this scheme. Minister Bhanwar Singh Bhati said that the Gehlot government has also changed many provisions for the benefit of farmers. He said that the electricity bill of three lakh farmers in Rajasthan is zero. Agriculture connections have been issued to 2.50 lakh farmers in the last three years. Whereas in the five years of BJP, 2 lakh 75 thousand agriculture connections were given. Energy Minister Bhanwar Singh Bhati said that according to the announcement of CM Gehlot, the rates of electricity bills of farmers will not be increased in Rajasthan for 5 years.
