Rajasthan receives double attacks of rain and cold

Jaipur: Cold wave continues to wreak havoc in Rajasthan due to western disturbances. Many areas are witnessing a steady drop in temperature every day. Rain has also continued in some areas for the last 2-3 days. Jaisalmer district on the Indo-Pakistan international border witnessed chilly weather on Tuesday. The weather in the district changed such a turn that the desert with the land of Dhoras turned into icy land.

The villages of the Pokaran area of Jaisalmer district received hailstorms with rain for two days, after which white sheets of snow were scattered on the soil of villages like Chhaya, Tota, Ajasar, Bodana. Dense fog engulfed the sky throughout the day. However, this change in weather brought tears to the eyes of the farmers. The light rain that started at around 2.30 pm on Tuesday turned into heavy rain by 3.30 pm. It rained so much in the district that at 3.30 a.m. the entire area was covered in thick darkness. After this torrential rain that lasted for about an hour, the streets got waterlogged, due to which the people had to face the double whammy of the cold. At the same time, after the rain, the temperature also dropped significantly.

The weather on Tuesday had started changing from the beginning of the day. While the sky was foggy in the morning, it was sunny for a while at 11 a.m. In the afternoon, the weather showed its colour again and the clouds overflowed and it started raining at about 2.30 pm. It started with a light drizzle, turning from thick drops to gram-shaped rainfall.
