Following the instructions of CM, senior officers of the Finance Department along with the heads of all the departments are busy planning for the reduction of expenses. A meeting was also held on Thursday on Gehlot's instructions. On 3 January 2020, while presenting a budget of 2 lakh 25 thousand crores, Gehlot had mentioned 7 resolutions for the development of the state. But the Gehlot government, which is struggling with a debt burden of about three and a half lakh crore rupees, is now preparing to cut the budget fixed for 5 of the 7 resolutions contained in the budget announcements due to the Corona crisis. Finance Department is taking fast steps to cut items. Gehlot had recently indicated a cut in the budget announcements if the Center did not give adequate support. The Center has not given 4 thousand crores of GST and 4478 crores of CST to the state. According to sources in the Finance Department, the government will cut the budget on 5 other resolutions except the CM's 2 resolutions 'Nirogi Rajasthan' and 'Prosperous Farmers'. CM had announced to recruit 53,151 posts in the current year, spending 14 thousand 533 crores 37 lakh on sick Rajasthan and Rs 3 thousand 420 crores 6 lakh on farmers and agriculture. According to sources in the Finance Department, the government will not cut any budget in the fixed budget of these two areas. But the new school, college, residential school and other activities related to education will cut the provision of 39 thousand 524 crores.
