Government is giving opportunity to open liquor shops

Jaipur: Even before Holi, Laxmi has been kind to the Jodhpur excise department. In the new financial year, the Excise Department has earned Rs 30 crore from the application fee for the license of liquor shops in Jodhpur alone. So far, 16 thousand applications have been received by the department. Of these, 9500 applications have been approved.

The state's Gehlot government on Thursday extended the application date to March 5. In such a situation, the department is expected to earn seventy-eighty crore rupees from the application forms. Excise inspector Pooja Marothi has said that the last date for submission of applications for the license of English and home liquor shops was 27 February. Now applications can be submitted online or through e-Mitra by March 5 at 11.59 pm.

Hard copies of applications will be submitted by 6 pm on March 7. Now the lottery will be taken out on 12 March. The first lottery was to be taken out on 7 March. There are 238 groups of indigenous liquor in the district. Which includes both composite and indigenous. At the same time, applications will be submitted for 66 in Jodhpur, three in Bilara and Phalodi and two in Pipar in the city of foreign liquor prepared in India. With every application, a fee of thirty thousand rupees will have to be deposited through net banking, e-grass challan, DD or e-Mitra. A person can submit any number of applications.
