Irfan, for whom Antima became 'Rizwana,' stabbed her on the middle road

Kota: 11 years after an interreligious marriage in the Dadabari area of Kota district of Rajasthan, a Muslim youth stabbed his 27-year-old wife to death on the road. The incident was reported on Wednesday evening (August 18, 2021). Police have arrested the accused on Thursday morning. The sister of the deceased claimed that a man named Irfan was harassing his sister Anta Shekhawat alias Rizwana after marriage.

According to media reports, 11 years ago, Vigyan Nagar resident Anta Shekhawat had fled the house and got married to Irfan. The girl later named herself Rizwana. Both of them had three children. But, after some time, Irfan beat her up and started harassing her. Fed up with the daily controversy, Two months ago, Antima alias Rizwana decided to separate from Irfan and filed a divorce, and started living on rent in the Balakund area.

When Antima went to her sister's house in Dadabari on Wednesday, she left for work with her 12-year-old niece. Meanwhile, Irfan came from Scooty and stabbed her with a knife in front of the grocery store. A blood-soaked Antima fell there. Irfan stabbed her in the throat and chest. The girl, who was standing with Antima, also sustained injuries on her hand in the incident. She was taken to a local hospital in hurry but was declared brought dead by doctors there.
