This opinion of ‘Bhai’ has got revert back from Ranbir side as “It has never happened that a person played himself in his own biopic. This destroys the effect of a character. I know that I will be compared to Sanjay Dutt and that is why I have tried my best to do justice to his role. It is correct that I cannot become second Sanjay Dutt.” After this reply from actors end the Director of the movie, Rajkumar Hirani also responded in a very fine way and while supporting ‘reel Sanju’ he said that he has also thought about the thing that Dutt should himself play the role of himself in his latter days but it would have been weird and Sanjay’s story must have seemed fake to the audience. He added “You are seeing Ranbir as Sanju throughout most of the film, and then suddenly, you see Sanjay playing his role older self, which would have automatically disconnected the public’s link with the film.” He also revealed that he also thought about giving him role of Sunil Dutt but that would have again made audience confused.
