Ram Kamal's film wins Best Shorts award in USA

‘Rickshawala’ earns Ram Kamal Mukherjee yet another prestigious award. This time the writer turned director has won a prestigious Award of Excellence, from The Best Shorts Film Competition for his latest work.

I am overwhelmed that ours being the only Bengali film, apart from one Hindi feature that could make it's presence felt at the global platform at this prestigious festival. I always feel excited and proud to see my tricolor National Flag shining bright with other countries. I am thankful to jury members and Festival Director for this honour bestowed upon my film Rickshawala. 

The film has been traveling across the globe and this has been a matter of pride and happiness for all of us in India," says Director Ram Kamal Mukherjee. Exquisitely shot in Kolkata by internationally acclaimed cinematographer Modhura Palit, the film has been edited by Pronoy Dasgupta. The music is composed by Neerajan Saha and vocals rendered by Krishanu Banerjee. The Best Shorts Competition recognizes film, television, videography and new media professionals who demonstrate exceptional achievement in craft and creativity, and those who produce standout entertainment or contribute to profound social change. Entries are judged by highly qualified professionals in the film and television industry.

"I can't believe that our film bagged this prestigious award in the USA. I would give this entire credit to my director Ram Kamal Mukherjee, who conceived and executed this film with finesse. As an actor, I have received maximum accolades for this film, and it will always remain very close to my heart," says actor Avinash Dwivedi. The film also stars Sangita Sinha and Kasturi Chakraborty in pivotal roles.
