'Manthara' of Ramayana met with an accident during shooting of this film

Ramanand Sagar's 'Ramayana' is re-telecasted on TV. People sitting at home are enjoying it. The serial has been 33 years old but its actors are still remembered. Today we are going to talk about actress Lalita Pawar who played Manthara. Lalita Pawar was born on 18 April 1916 in Nashik. Her father Laxman Rao Shagun was a rich businessman who used to do business in silk and cotton. Lalita Pawar is said to have been born when her mother Anusuiya went to a temple, and Lalita was earlier named Ambika because of her birth in Amba Devi's temple.

At the age of nine, Lalita Pawar made her debut with the film 'Raja Harishchandra'. Lalita Pawar started working as the lead actress in the 40s. Lalita Pawar's debut in films was also a coincidence. She had come to see the shooting of the film with her father when director Nana caught sight of her. He offered the role of child artist. Her family did not agree on this but later agreed. Lalita's first sound film was Himmat-e-Marda (1935). In the film, she gave bikini scenes. It was a bold move in that era.

An accident during the shooting completely ruined her face. In 1942, Lalita was doing a scene in the film 'Jung-e-Azadi', while in the film, actor Bhagwan Dada had to slap Lalita. He slapped so hard that she fell. Lalita Pawar's right body was paralyzed due to a wrong medicine given by the doctor, and with this, her right eye completely shrunk. Lalita Pawar returned again with one of her goofy eyes, although after that she got mostly negative roles. Lalita Pawar, who has shown her passion for acting in hundreds of films in her career, said goodbye to the world on 24 February 1998.
