New Delhi: Tata Group Chairman Ratan Tata is very active in leading his group companies. He has now made a big statement about the successor of Tata Sons. Ratan Tata has issued a statement saying that the successor of Tata Sons will be decided only after due consultations with the board. Ratan Tata in his statement said that no one has approached Tata Sons chief N Chandrasekaran to give him a second term. Ratan Tata further said that he assures shareholders that any decision on the successor will be taken in a very transparent manner. The successor will not be decided without consultation with the Board of Tata Sons. A recent report said Chandrasekaran will be given a second term as chairman of Tata Sons. Ratan Tata made the statement as a response to the report. The report was prepared on the basis of talks with some tata group officials. Tata Group officials had said that shareholders were praising Chandrasekaran's performance. On the other hand, Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran said on Monday that a committee of Tata Sons and the Board has been constituted to determine the successor. The committee will discuss the successor at the appropriate time. He said he has not had any discussion with Ratan Tata or tata trust or tata sons board about the successor. Such issues are first placed before the Board. Only then does a decision take place.
