New Delhi: The Reserve Bank of India on Wednesday warned people that some fraudulent elements are using RBI names and logos for sale of old notes and coins on various online, offline platforms. RBI issued a statement in this regard saying, "It has come to our notice that some elements are wrongly using the names and people of RBI and charges/charges from people for selling old banknotes and coins through various online, offline platforms. They are asking for commission or tax.'' RBI cautions the public not to fall prey to fictitious offers of buying/ selling of Old Banknotes and Coinshttps://t.co/y0e9KfSb0G ? ReserveBankOfIndia (@RBI) August 4, 2021 RBI in its statement clarified that it is not involved in any such activity and will never seek any fee or commission from anyone for such transactions. At the same time, the RBI has said that it has not given any authority to any institution or person for such activities. "It is clarified that the Reserve Bank of India does not deal in such cases nor ever asks anyone for such fees or commissions," the RBI said. RBI has said that "it has never given authority to any institution, company or person, etc. The Reserve Bank of India instructs the general public not to fall into the trap of such fake and fraudulent offers.''
