Reserve Bank of India workers protest to keep branches open on all holidays

Workers of Reserve Bank of India are protesting against the company's order to keep all the branches open on all the holidays till April 1st. This order was given to collect the tax.

The All India Bank Officers' Confederation gave the statement on the protest against RBI, "In our opinion, the necessity to open the branches for transacting government business on all holidays one week before the end of the financial year is not at all required. There are four full normal working days between 25th and 31st March 2017, which is more than enough to complete all government transactions."

A letter by an employ to RBI governor Urjit Patel reads that due to no holiday employees will not be able to celebrate Navaratri, Ugadi, Gudi Padwa and many other festivals falling between March 25 and April 1.
