Reactor Blast in Andhra Pradesh Pharma Co: Two Feared Dead, 20 Injured

In Andhra Pradesh, a reactor explosion at a pharmaceutical company on Wednesday has left at least two people feared dead and 20 others injured. The incident occurred at the Escientia plant in the Achutapuram Special Economic Zone, Anakapalle district.

According to local authorities, the blast caused significant damage, with thick smoke spreading from the site and affecting nearby areas. Deepika, the Superintendent of Police for Anakapalle district, confirmed that the injured individuals were quickly transported to NTR Hospital and a private medical facility for treatment.

The explosion happened during lunchtime, which helped prevent a larger catastrophe. Rescue operations are currently in progress, and both the District Collector and Superintendent of Police are en route to the scene to oversee the response efforts.
