Remembering General Bipin Rawat on his 1st Death Anniversary on Dec 8

General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika, and 11 other officials of the Indian armed forces were killed in a helicopter crash near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu on December 8, 2021.

“The country will always recollect the courageous decisions taken by General Bipin Rawat for the security of the borders and the contribution made by him to keep the morale of the armed forces always high.

On his first death anniversary, let us pay tributes to Late General Bipin Laxman Singh Rawat with mind, heart and soul.  May his departed soul rest in peace and India will always remember him for his stand against Kashmiri Militants.

General Bipin Laxman Singh Rawat was born in Pauri On March 16, 1958.  He was a resident of the district's Saina village and was raised by a family that had a long history of Indian Army service. His father, Lieutenant-General Laxman Singh Rawat, was from the Pauri Garhwal district's Sainj village.

Bipin Rawat also earned degrees from the Indian Military Academy in Dehradun and the National Defense Academy in Khadakwasla, where he received the "Sword of Honor." Naturally, he would later go on to become the highly regarded general of the Indian Army that he was known as, serving in various military divisions over a number of postings before being promoted to the position of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and then India's first Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), a position he diligently held until his untimely passing.
