Results of assembly elections in five states including Bengal today

Kolkata: Counting of votes for a total of 822 assembly seats in four states of Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Kerala, and one Union Territory of Puducherry is scheduled to begin today. The counting of votes will begin at 8 pm today. Meanwhile, the covid-19 rules will be strictly followed. Let me tell all of you that this time a total of 2,364 centers will be counted. In fact, the total number of counting centers in 2016 was 1,002. 822 election officers and more than 7,000 assistant election officers have been nominated for counting. If all eyes are somewhere, it is Bengal. The results here are being watched by the entire country. There is a direct contest between the BJP and the Trinamool Congress.

In Madhya Pradesh, the results of the Damoh assembly by-election will also be out today i.e. BJP and Congress leaders have claimed their respective victories here. On the one hand, Congress also claims that those who insult the mandate will face defeat. Moreover, all preparations for the counting votes have been completed by the Election Commission as per the directions of the High Court. Rahul Singh Lodhi, who was elected MLA from Damoh on a Congress ticket, had resigned and joined the BJP. That is why the by-election was held here.

Rahul was the BJP candidate in the by-election while Ajay Tandon contested from the Congress. BJP's chief spokesperson Dr. Deepak Vijayvargiya said that the seat had gone in favor of Congress due to the momentary resentment of voters in the 2018 assembly elections but the BJP has a huge mass base here. The BJP will win a big victory.
