In the opening trade of the week today the rupee appreciated by 5 paise to 64.10 against the US dollar.
The rupee had retreated by 4 paise to end at 64.15 against the US dollar on Friday.
In the opening trade today the e Nifty soared to a new high of 10,043.30 and the benchmark Sensex rose 133.05 points, or 0.41 per cent, to 32,442.93.
