At the Inter-bank Foreign Exchange market on increased selling of the US currency by exporters and banks the rupees edged hike by 8 paise to 67.13 against the US dollar in the early trade today.
In the yesterday’s trade on fag and selling of the dollars the rupee bounced back by 14 paise to close at 67.21. however, a subdued trend in domestic equities and dollar’s strength against the other currencies. Though, restricted the gains.
However the dealers said “Besides, sustained foreign capital inflows gave the rupee some muscle”. Meanwhile, in the early trade today the benchmark BSE sensex fell 71.69 points or 0.28 per cent to 24,722.27.
