Russian Missile and Drone Attacks Hit Multiple Ukrainian Cities

UKRAINE: In a series of attacks on Tuesday, August 8, Russian forces targeted several locations across Ukraine, causing significant damage and disruption.

In Kharkiv, a missile strike damaged a medical clinic in the city’s central area, according to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov. The attack has led to reports of possible casualties, with local officials working to confirm if anyone is trapped under debris. The regional governor, Oleh Syniehubov, mentioned that two people have been treated for severe stress reactions following the attack.

Meanwhile, the city of Nikopol in the Dnipropetrovsk region also came under fire as Russian drones carried out strikes. Although several fires were ignited, there were no reported injuries. In addition, homes in various villages across the Mykolaiv region were damaged by drone attacks, as reported by Governor Vitaliy Kim.

In response to these assaults, Ukraine’s military reported that they had successfully intercepted four Russian missiles and 15 drones during the night. These interceptions occurred over several regions, including Kherson, Khmelnytskyi, Kyiv, and Mykolaiv.

Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko noted that debris from a downed missile caused damage to a car park but resulted in no injuries.

On the Russian side, the defense ministry stated that 13 Ukrainian drones were shot down over the Kursk region and nine over Belgorod. Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported that a Ukrainian strike on a car in Belgorod resulted in one fatality and damaged nearby buildings. Kursk’s acting governor, Alexei Smirnov, added that Russian forces successfully thwarted an attempt by Ukrainian troops to breach the border.
