Sangli: An incident like Palghar has come to the fore once again from Maharashtra. On Tuesday, people thrashed 4 sadhus on suspicion of child theft in Sangli district, the video of which is becoming increasingly viral on social media. At the same time, politics has intensified on the beating of sadhus. Regarding this incident, Shiv Sena has said that law and order has failed in the Shinde government. Shiv Sena spokesperson Anand Dubey said that it is unfortunate that four sadhus were thrashed in the Sangli district of Maharashtra, which is called the land of saints and the local administration remains a mute spectator. He said that not a single BJP MLA has gone to the spot to collect votes by misleading people in the name of religion. It is clear from this that BJP only believes in politics of riots and hatred. He said that there is a huge difference between the words and deeds of the BJP, which needs to be understood. BJP is only pretending to be Hindutva. In fact, the BJP is only desirous of building up its vote bank and capturing power by any means of deceit, force and corruption. They are only doing mock politics. This case is of Lavanga village of Sangli Jat tehsil. Four sadhus from Uttar Pradesh were going in a car from Bijapur in Karnataka towards the temple of Pandharpur. They had stayed at a temple in the village on Monday. A police officer said that while resuming the journey on Tuesday, they had asked a boy the way. This led some locals to suspect that they were members of a gang that kidnapped children. This word spread rapidly in the village and the local people thrashed the sadhus fiercely. According to the police, the sadhus are members of an akhara in UP.
