Bathinda: On September 23, nine iron rods were discovered on the Bathinda-Delhi railway track, prompting swift action from the Government Railway Police (GRP). Investigating Officer Shavinder Kumar reported that a train had to be stopped early Sunday morning after the rods were spotted on the tracks around 3 AM.
Upon recovery, railway officials removed the rods, and an FIR was lodged against unknown individuals. "In the morning, the RPF investigated the matter and recovered the rods, which were then handed over to the GRP for further action," Kumar explained.
In a separate incident on the same day, a major tragedy was averted in Kanpur district, Uttar Pradesh, when a 5-litre empty gas cylinder was found on the railway tracks near Prempur station at approximately 5:50 AM. The loco pilots of a goods train halted the train using emergency brakes upon spotting the cylinder.
According to a statement from the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of North Central Railway, the goods train, which was en route from Kanpur to Prayagraj, was stopped to ensure safety. Teams, including security personnel, examined the cylinder and confirmed it was empty. Investigations into the incident have been initiated.
Additionally, on September 19, a 6-meter-long iron pole was reported on the tracks between Bilaspur Road and Rudrapur City in Uttarakhand, leading to another emergency stop by the train driver.
