Increase in sales of Maruti Suzuki in September

Maruti Suzuki India (MSI), India's  car manufacturing company on Sunday reports that in September there is a 9.3% increase in total sales at 1,63,071 units. Last year, in the same month the car maker Maruti Suzuki India had sold 1,49,143 units

The company in a statement reveals that the MSI’s domestic sales stood at 1,51,400 units, up 10.3% from 1,37,321 units in September 2016. However, the sale of mini segment cars, including Alto and WagonR faced a downfall of 13.3%  to 38,479 units during the month from 44,395 units in September last year.

Meanwhile, the sales of Swift, Estilo, Dzire, and Baleno have risen by 44.7% to 72,804 units as against 50,324 units. During this month the sales of sedan Ciaz fall by 14.4% to 5,603 units. The is an increase of 8%  in the sales of vehicles, including Gypsy, Grand Vitara, Ertiga, S-Cross and compact SUV Vitara Brezza in September compared to same month in 2016. Last month there is an increase in the  Sales of vans Omni and Eeco by 13,735 units against 13,618 units in the year-ago period.

The MSI said Exports in September were down 1.3% to 11,671 units as compared to 11,822 units in the same month last year.
