Lucknow: Veteran Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and former minister Ahmed Hasan passed away on Saturday. He was admitted to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in Lucknow. He was 88 years old. According to the information, he was on dialysis for the last 8 days. His condition was said to be extremely critical. Ahmed Hasan had held the health and education ministry in the SP government. Ahmed Hasan was also said to be special to Mulayam Singh Yadav. He was the leader of the opposition in the Legislative Council. 88-year-old Ahmed Hasan passed away at Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital on Saturday, medical superintendent Dr Vikram Singh said, adding that veteran SP leader and former minister Ahmed Hasan passed away at 11 am on Saturday. He said Ahmed Hasan was kept in the Critical Care Medicine Department of the Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences due to sepsis. He was undergoing treatment under the supervision of CCM specialist Dr Deepak Malaviya and other doctors there. Medical Superintendent Dr Vikram said he was admitted to the ICU of Critical Care Medicine two days ago. He was then shifted to a ventilator. 7 days ago, he was admitted to the critical care ward of Dr Ram Manohar Lohia. Ahmed Hasan was also given dialysis on Friday, but his health was not improving.
