Sania Mirza told 'why it is important for players to take their wives along with them on tour'

New Delhi: The country's tennis player Sania Mirza has said that it is necessary for the wives to go with the players on foreign tours. She has condemned the cricket players' wives and female friends for not being allowed to accompany them on cricket tours. Sania has described this as a mindset in which women are considered to be distracting, not strength. She said on the Indian Economic Forum that girls should be encouraged to participate in sports from a young age.

Sania said, 'Many times in our cricket team and many other teams, I have seen that wives or female friends are not allowed to go on tour because boys will get distracted. She said what does this mean? What do women do that distracts the attention of men?  She said,' See this thing comes from that deep mindset in which it is believed that women are distraction, not strength'.

Sania said that "it has also been proved that male players in the team perform better when their wives and female friends and their family live with them because they feel happy when they come in the room. She said, 'They (male players) don't come back to the empty room, they go out and have dinner. This helps you when your wife or girlfriend is with you. She also defended the attack on Anushka Sharma.
