The Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP) in Borivli has been resumed for recreational activities for the public from December 15 with COVID-19 restrictions. Due to the pandemic, tiger and lion safari, mini train and boat rides will remain shut. It was closed on March 18 in the wake of the COVID-19 induced lockdown. According to SGNP officials, the park will be open from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm. The park authorities have restricted entry to private autos. Paid Parking facilities have been produced out there for guests/vacationers in a newly created parking region. Besides Finest buses have been produced out there for the guests to travel inside the park. Since Kanheri caves will not be accessible for vacationers, for now, vacationers will be permitted to go up to the Tumnipada gate. The forest department officials from Sanjay Gandhi National Park said, “The entry of private vehicles is completely restricted and those coming in private vehicles will have to park them at the parking lot near the main gate.” The Park reopened for morning walkers from October 15. Following which Morning walkers have been in a position to go to the park involving 5.30 am and 7.30 am, every day. After closely monitoring the activities, the park decided to reopen for vacationers.
