Guwahati: In Bongaigaon district of Assam, a tragic incident has sparked outrage as the dead body of a 16-year-old Hindu girl was discovered near Dangtal Railway Market on the night of Friday, March 8th.

Reports indicate that the victim had been missing since Tuesday, March 5th. Following her disappearance, her family filed a complaint with the Bongaigaon police, accusing a local individual named Sarfaraz Hussain of luring and entrapping the minor girl.

Responding to the complaint, the police detained the accused. However, tensions escalated when the body of the 16-year-old girl was found on Friday. Hindus in the area staged a demonstration, demanding justice for the victim.

The demonstrators staged road and railway blockades, calling for strong action against Sarfaraz Hussain, whom they accused of involvement in the girl's death. Placards bearing messages like 'We Want Justice' and 'Go Back Jihadi' were prominently displayed during the protest.

Efforts by the police to maintain law and order led to a scuffle, resulting in injuries to some protestors. Speaking to the media, protestors demanded the death penalty for Sarfaraz Hussain and labeled the incident as a case of 'love jihad.'

Expressing dissatisfaction with the police response, protestors called for a thorough investigation into the matter. One protestor highlighted the delay in police action, suggesting that timely intervention could have prevented the tragic outcome.

"We have only one demand: the culprit must be punished. We are not satisfied with the investigation conducted so far. We demand a CBI probe to uncover the truth," remarked another protestor.
