Students protested in Sasaram, fearing heavy losses

Hundreds of youth, mostly students, protested against the Centre's move to privatize trains, stations and production units of Indian Railways. With placards and banners in their hands, protesters raised slogans against the privatization of the railway at Sasaram railway station in Rohtas district of Bihar. The protesting youths forcibly stopped the trains for more than four hours. Some angry protesters also entered the stage and offices at the station.

Indian Railways has been the largest provider of government jobs to the youth. If it is privatized, then nothing will be left for us. We will not allow the Modi government to privatize railways. According to district police officials, protests at the railway station have disrupted train services and hundreds of passengers were stranded at various railway stations on the Mughalsarai-Gaya route.
