Many countries have halted flights after new corona variant reported in UK. After halting flights, Saudi Arabia has now extended the suspension of all international commercial flights and entry into the UK through land and seaports for another week in view of the new coronavirus strain which was discovered in the United Kingdom. Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation took to Twitter and wrote, “An official source in the Ministry of Interior said: Extending the suspension of international flights and entering the Kingdom through land and seaports for another week. Saudi Arabia’s top aviation body on Sunday confirmed it will allow airlines operating in the Kingdom to fly out non-Saudi Arabian passengers. Last week, the country had closed its land borders and suspended international flights for one week following the discovery of a new coronavirus strain in the UK, which has now spread to several countries around the world. Earlier, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said the new viral strain "may be up to 70 percent more transmissible than the original version of the disease". Ahead of Christmas, British health minister Matt Hancock had announced the expansion of strict lockdown measures across further parts of the south of England to contain the spread of the disease.With over 68,000 deaths from the virus, the United Kingdom is one of the worst countries in Europe.
