According to the alert, customers have been asked to link their PAN and Aadhaar before September 30, 2021. Failing this, customers will not be able to avail of the banking facility and may have to pay late fees. In fact, the government had set June 30, 2021, as the deadline for linking Aadhaar and PAN. This has been extended to September 30, 2021, in view of the increasing number of cases of the second wave of the corona. It has now been clarified by the SBI that people will now have to link their Aadhaar and PAN card to avail of the banking facility. At present, the customer may have to pay a fine in case the Aadhaar card and PAN card are not linked. In case the PAN card is inactive, a late fee of Rs. 1000 will have to be paid to activate it. Your card will not be treated as a quote in case the PAN card is inactive. As a result, the customer can be fined up to 10,000 under section 272B of the Income Tax Department law. State that if a person does not link his Aadhaar and PAN card before September 30, 2021, his PAN card will become inoperative. This may deprive him of a variety of banking facilities.
