SBI launches big scheme, extends benefits of up to Rs 2 lakh to these customers

New Delhi: If you have a Jan Dhan account in the country's largest public sector bank, you have this news for you. SBI is offering free insurance of Rs 2 lakh to its Jan Dhan account holders. As per the information furnished by the SBI, free emergency insurance cover up to Rs. Death insurance, purchase safety cover, and other benefits are also provided to Rupay debit card users.

The Jan Dhan Yojana in the country was launched by the Modi government in its first term. The aim was to have a savings bank account for all the people of the country. Crores of people did not have bank accounts in the country at that time. After the launch of this scheme, the accounts of crores of poor people were opened in the country. Which benefited them during the Corona period. All the schemes of the Government are linked to this bank account. The personal accident policy under the scheme also covers incidents outside the country. On submission of necessary documents, the claim will be paid in Indian rupees as per the policy amount. As per the court order, the beneficiary can become a nominee in the account of the cardholder or legal heir.

You can convert your basic savings account into a Jan Dhan account. Those who have a Jan Dhan account are given PM Jan Dhan Yojana card from the bank. The policy of RuPay PMJDY card issued on Jan Dhan accounts opened till 28th August 2018 is Rupay. The card issued thereafter gets an accidental cover of up to Rs 2 lakh.
