NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Monday has asked the Centre to fill the vacancies of the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) in the next three months. The bench was led by Chief Justice JS Khehar which passed the order. The Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed by the Radhakanta Tripathy, who is a social activist. Justice DY Chandrachud who was also the member of the bench after consulting the official from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs asked that the vacant seats should be filled up within ten weeks. The court has given three month time period to NCST to fill up the vacancies.
