A 22-year-old woman from Mumbai who wanted to abort her 24 week foetus today has granted permission by the Supreme court. As per law, it is not allowed to abort the foetus after 20 weeks of the pregnancy. The KEM Hospital doctors after examining the lady told the court that the foetus has no skull as it suffers from Anencephaly. They also told that if she continues her pregnancy there is also danger to her life. Last year in December, the woman came to know about the defect in foetus. Mumbai doctors refused her request to abort it as her pregnancy had completed 20 weeks.
