SC shuts the case against 'Markandey Katju' after his unconditional apology

The Supreme court has shut down the case against the Markandey Katju, who is the former supreme court judge after accepting his apology.The bench of justice Ranjan Gogoi and Uday Umesh in the order said "In view of the apology tendered, we accept and close the proceeding.".

Katju on a Facebook post commented on the decision of Supreme court in Soumya case. On which the SC said that his comment is "a serious assault on judges, not on judgements".

"I express my respect for the judicial appointment process and for the judiciary as an institution of governance," said Markandey Katju.
