The Supreme court today is going to hear the petition of Haji Ali Dargah in relation with the entry of women in its sanctum. On December 1, the SC had extended the stay granted by the Bombay High Court to facilitate an appeal against its decision to lift the ban on entry of women near the sanctum sanctorum of the famous Haji Ali Dargah till October 24. Before 2011 there was no discrimination against the women by the dargah and free entry of people across religions were allowed. The ban was imposed on the entry of women in march,2011.
