The youngsters studying in 587 city schools in south Delhi will soon be given textbooks and bags for nothing as the range's civic body has taken a decision in such manner. "South Delhi Municipal Corporation has decided to circulate free textbooks and school bags to youngsters contemplating in our elementary schools," the SDMC said on November 24. In an announcement, the civic body said its Mayor Shyam Sharma has "endorsed a measure of Rs 3.8 crore for the reason for the financial year 2017-18". "Around three lakh students in 587 elementary schools will be appropriated six types of reading material, each for the subjects of Hindi, English, Mathematics, Social Science, Science, and Drawing. A measure of Rs 2.53 crore will be required for this reason," Sharma was cited as saying in the announcement. Promote, around 93,000 school bags in of all shapes and sizes will be acquired for youngsters concentrating on in class 1, 2 and 3, it said. "A measure of Rs 1.26 crore has been endorsed for the circulation of school packs for nothing. Upwards of 53,000 school sacks in enormous size and 43,000 in little size will be secured," he said including, "the textbooks and school bags will be set in time."
