J&K: Another militants attack security forces, search operation underway in valley

Srinagar: A team of security forces was suddenly attacked by some terrorists in Shopian district of The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. However, there was no loss of life or property in the attack. A police official said, militants attacked a joint team of police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) at Agalar in Jainpora area of south Kashmir district. The official said a search operation has been launched to cordon off the area and nab the attackers.

This week, security forces recovered five kilograms of explosives in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. An Army spokesman said in Srinagar that the explosive material was seized during a search operation conducted this morning. The search operation was carried out after a tip-off was received that there was a large quantity of explosive material in Soimuh near Tral area of south Kashmir district.

Meanwhile, IED was recovered near Chanpora police post in Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir last week. A bomb disposal squad team which reached the spot on receiving information defused the IED.
