A terrorist was killed in an encounter with a joint security force in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri on November 18. Earlier, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Defence Jammu, reported an ongoing joint operation by the Army and Jammu & Kashmir Police in Behrot, Budhal district of Rajouri. The confrontation ensued during a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) conducted by a combined team of army, police, and CRPF in the Guller-Behrote area of Budhal tehsil after receiving intelligence regarding suspicious movements in the vicinity. In another incident on Thursday, gunfire erupted in the southern Kulgam area, resulting in the deaths of five individuals by Friday. Authorities disclosed that amidst the ongoing conflict, at least 114 casualties have been recorded this year, comprising 11 civilians, 23 security personnel, and 80 suspected rebels. In September, a terrorist was eliminated in an operation jointly carried out by the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir police in the Reasi district. According to officials, during the subsequent search after the encounter, war-like materials, including an AK series assault rifle with magazines, were seized. Additionally, the Indian Army dismantled an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in the same area on September 3, as per the officials.
