Sensex: Stock market closed with gains

The coronavirus has badly hit the Indian economy. A relief package has been announced by the Central Government to revive the trade. At the same time, the Sensex closed in the sixth consecutive trading session for the sixth consecutive session due to the rise in shares of various companies including HDFC, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank amid positive signals from global markets. The 30-share sensitive index Sensex of BSE closed at 34,109.54 points, up 284.01 points, or 0.84 per cent. During the day's trading, the Sensex had reached the level of 34,488.69 points at one time. Similarly, NSE Nifty closed at 10,061.55 points with a gain of 82.45 points, or 0.83 per cent.

M&M shares saw the maximum gain of 4.82% on the Sensex. After this, shares of Kotak Bank, Bajaj Finance, Nestle India, SBI, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank and ONGC saw significant gains. At the same time, analysts say that the Sensex gained momentum due to increased investment by foreign investors and positive global cues. According to provisional data of the stock market, foreign portfolio investors bought shares worth Rs 7,498.29 crore on a net basis on Tuesday.

If we talk about Asian markets, then the markets in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Seoul closed up by two percent. The stock markets are seeing a boom in early trade in Europe.
