Sensex finishes 81 points lower, Nifty keep at 18,000-level

Benchmark Indices of the stock market, the Sensex and Nifty, ended lower on Wednesday, Due to losses in HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, and Hindustan Uni Lever amid a weak trend in global markets.

The BSE Sensex, a 30-share index, fell 80.63 points, or 0.13 percent, to 60,352.82. The NSE Nifty also dropped 27.05 points, or 0.15 percent, to 18,017.20. With a loss of over 3 percent, IndusInd Bank led the Sensex pack, followed by Tata Steel, Hindustan UniLever, Asian Paints, Titan Company, and State bank of India. Bharti Airtel, Mahindra and Mahindra, Sun Pharma, Reliance Industries, and ITC, on the other hand, were among the gainers.

Today, the Nifty PSU Bank index dropped 2.35 percent to 2969.15. Bank of Baroda fell 5.31 percent, Union Bank of India fell 3.52 percent, and Canara Bank fell 2.82 percent among the constituents. The Nifty Metal index is down 1.76 percent on the day, while the Nifty Realty index is down 1.36 percent.
