Indian share market benchmarks staged a rebound on Tuesday, recovering most of the losses made on Friday and Monday. At close, the BSE Sensex ended 834 points higher at 49,398. The NSE Nifty also gained close to 239 points higher at 14,521 on Tuesday. Among the sectoral indices, the real estate index was the top performer in today's session, ending 4.1 pc higher. The Metal index, which was the top laggard on Monday, recovered most of its losses to end with gains of 3 pc. the PSU Bank index went up 2.7 pc while the Media index up 2.5 pc. The Nifty Bank index too gained over 600 points in today's session to end at 32,424. The Nifty Pharma and Nifty Auto index gained 1.7 pc each. Top gainers on the Nifty include Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserve, Tata Motors, Grasim and HDFC, while losers include Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Britannia and ITC. Shares in L&T Technology gained nearly 9 percent ahead of its Q3FY21 results.
