Shah issued list of jibs on PM Modi, says no change in Congress culture

NEW DELHI: Blow with anger on Mani Shankar Aiyar's 'neech' crack, BJP chief Amit Shah on Thursday shed light on several of such "disgraceful" remarks by Congress leaders in opposition to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asserting it had been the "traditions" of the party.

Shah asserted he was not shocked at Aiyar's insulting remark against PM Modi, as it had been the culture of the opposition party.

"Yamraj, Maut ka Saudagar, Ravan, Gandi Nali Ka Keeda, Monkey, Rabies Victim, Virus, Bhasmasur, Gangu Teli, Goon. Nobody knows how many times Congress leaders have used this sort of language against Modi in the past. Years have passed, but there has been no change in its culture,"  Amit Shah posted, in a tweet, today.

"Neither shocked nor surprised by Mani Shankar Aiyar’s referring to PM as ‘Neech.’ This is the culture of the Congress Party. People of Gujarat will punish anti-poor, anti-Dalit, anti-Tribal and anti-OBC Congress," Amit Shah posted another tweet.

This way of thinking of the Congress not in favor of a poor man's son, a reference to PM Modi, echoed its ideological insolvency and "Mughlai mentality", Shah asserted.

Amit Shah ascribed these comments to the "disgust" of the Congress against the poor, backwards, Dalits and underprivileged.

As these sections of the society were moving ahead now, the opposition party's disgust remarks against them had fallen under the category of abusive language, Shah said.

The BJP stood for civility, good values and progress, and it would go on to serve the 125 crore people of India, Shah added.

Yesterday, Aiyar tagged PM Modi a "neech aadmi" (wicked man), who involved in"dirty politics", triggering a row of comments before 24 hrs of campaigning for the first phase of the Gujarat Assembly polls.
