Post the release and success of the period drama Padmavat, Shahid Kapoor is on with his next venture, Batti Gul Meter Chalu is, which is soon to reach the celluloids. The movie has been helmed by Shree Narayan Singh and stars Shraddha Kapoor poosite Shahid Kapoor and also Yami Gautam playing a pivotal character. Talkjing about the movie, Shahid asserted that "BGMC is the kind of movie that people who have lived away from Mumbai will more easily relate to. He said, therefore the feedback of the peop;le who have lived in Mumbai and are surrounding him isn’t as relevant to him as of the others who stayed and still are staying in the other parts of the country. He said that there are people who have been facing a shortage of electricity. He also shared that whrn he met director Shree Narayan Singh, he got to learn that he is from that world and knows about the real issues of the people living in such places. Shahid Kapoor is known for his excellent performance in movies such as Haider (2014) and Udta Punjab (2016) which also discussed social issues. Talking about such movies that gave a strong message, Shahid affirmed that he could closely relate to the world that the film is set in.
